Petka forest park is a pine-covered hill above Gruž and Lapad, popular with locals for morning walks. A network of shaded paths leads to viewpoints over Dubrovnik’s port and the Elafiti islands. Dogs are allowed on the marked paths, on a leash. This is the best summer alternative to the old town, where by ten in the morning the limestone streets heat up enough to burn paws.
