Gorenjska is the closest escape with a dog when the sea is not the goal — Bled, Bohinj and Kranjska Gora are less than an hour from Ljubljana. Trails are shady and follow water, and summers are far cooler than on the coast. Inside Triglav National Park dogs must be leashed everywhere.
