The oldest quarry in Istria, at Vinkuran, supplied the stone for Pula’s Arena and is today an open-air space between tall cut walls. The Istria Tourist Board lists it in its guide to a carefree trip with a pet through South Istria, as the continuation of the Roman story that begins in Medulin. The ground is stony and hot in summer with little shade — go in the morning or towards evening and bring water.
