The boutique Pira Hotel, in a renovated 18th-century homestead in Hruševje near Postojna, accepts only small dogs under its pet policy (guide dogs excepted), with at most two animals per room. The surcharge is €30 per day per dog, the dog must be announced in advance, and the hotel reserves the right to charge €100 for an unregistered pet. In public areas the dog must be on a leash or in a carrier, it may not be left alone in the room, and you should bring its bed and bowls. The Pira restaurant serves a St Martin’s menu from 31 October, a sign the property is operating into November.
