Kijac is a shingle beach adapted for dogs, roughly 200 metres from the main beach in Njivice. It appears on the Kvarner Tourist Board’s list of dog beaches. Its biggest advantage is the pine wood right behind the shore, which gives shade all day — a rarity on Krk in summer and the reason Kijac is one of the island’s most popular dog beaches. The beach has a shower. Access is on foot from Njivice along the coastal path, with parking in the village; with a dog it is nicest early in the morning, while the wood is still cool.
