Stobreč is a suburb of Split on the peninsula at the mouth of the Žrnovnica and is listed by the Prijatelji životinja association as a location where dogs are welcome. For visitors with a dog it is a practical alternative to Split’s Duilovo: the beach is sand and shingle, the sea stays shallow a long way out, and there is shade from pines and the campsite behind. Stobreč is about fifteen minutes from Split by city bus or car. Dogs must be leashed, waste must be cleaned up and the spot rinsed with seawater.
