Monty's Dog Beach & Bar (Portorož)

Monty’s Dog Beach & Bar counts as Slovenia’s first genuine dog beach. It sits at the start of the former Lucija beach, below the outdoor pool of Hotel Metropol, and is set up specifically for dogs: there is an agility course, shaded rest areas, showers, and a bar with treats and refreshments for dogs and their owners. Entry, swimming and use of the course are free — you only pay if you order something at the bar. Because the beach is meant for dogs alone, there is no balancing act between bathers and animals, though it can get lively at the height of the season, so shy dogs are better off coming in the morning or towards evening.
