Nesactium near Valtura was the capital of the Histri and is today laid out as an archaeological park with paths between the foundations of the walls, Roman temples and town houses. The Istria Tourist Board recommends it in its guide to travelling with a pet as a stop in the Ližnjan area. The ground is grass and gravel, the visit is short and undemanding, and shade is scarce — bring water and let your dog rest in the shadow of the walls.
