This green peninsula with its distinctive flysch cliff at the very north of the Slovenian coast is a lovely destination for a walk with a dog. According to information from the Municipality of Ankaran, you may bring your dog onto Debeli rtič beach (as well as Valdoltra, Sv. Katarina and Študent), but swimming there is not allowed for dogs — for that there is Sv. Jernej beach and part of the beach within the Adria Ankaran complex. Keep your dog under constant supervision on the beaches and clean up after it; dog waste bins are at the Adria beach, at the tourist information centre in the centre of Ankaran and along Regentova ulica.
