A marked urban walking and hiking trail along the Rječina river — a protected natural monument since 1985 — winds through a deeply cut gorge past waterfalls, rapids and old mills, from Trsat to the river’s source. The trail suits both more demanding hikers and less experienced families, and thanks to the gorge there is enough shade even in summer.
