The Franz Joseph I promenade, commonly known as the Lungomare, is a 12 km coastal walkway laid out back in 1911, connecting the fishing village of Volosko with Opatija, Ičići, Ika and Lovran. This flat, shaded seaside path is ideal for a full day’s walk with a dog; in places it runs right alongside roads, so a leash is especially recommended there.
