Rijeka’s first beach set up specifically for dogs (since 2011) lies by the embankment right next to the Kantrida auxiliary football stadium, by the car park. The pebble-and-rock beach is fairly shallow and suitable for older or timid dogs too. The city administration requires a leash, picking up waste and rinsing the spot where the dog relieved itself; a dog-washing shower is available.
