From the Nordic centre in Planica a wide, gently rising gravel track runs up the valley to the mountain hut at Tamar below the face of Jalovec — an easy climb that also suits dogs unused to long outings. The valley is part of Triglav National Park, where a leash is compulsory in the natural environment and dogs may not swim in the high-mountain streams. Camping and overnight stays outside designated places are not allowed in the park.
