Leashleash required

Zelenci is an emerald-green pool just past Podkoren, on the south side of the main road towards Rateče, where the springs of the Sava Dolinka bubble up through a layer of lake chalk. A maintained forest path leads to the lake, followed by a wooden boardwalk across the marsh to a viewing platform, so the walk is short and suits older dogs too. According to the Kranjska Gora tourist board, the surroundings turn yellow, orange and red in autumn, and the water stays at about 6 °C all year. The decree on the Zelenci Nature Reserve explicitly bans letting dogs off the leash, walking off the marked paths, and bathing or diving, so keep your dog leashed, on the boardwalk and out of the water.
