This dry gorge above Krnica near Gorje is laid out with bridges and walkways; the walk through it is easy and pleasantly cool in summer — a good alternative to the crowds at Vintgar. The gorge lies inside Triglav National Park, whose rules of conduct require dogs to be on a leash at all times in the natural environment. Do not approach grazing livestock with your dog, and note that letting dogs swim in the park’s high-mountain lakes and streams is not allowed.
