Lake Završnica is an artificial reservoir in the forest-ringed Završnica valley near Žirovnica, below Stol, the highest peak of the Karavanke. A paved road leads to the car park by the lake, from where the shore is only a few steps away. There are benches and picnic spots along the lake, and paths for an easy walk run around it and on up the valley, and there is a fitness trail nearby. The dog directory Potepanje s psom lists the lake as a dog outing and says the valley offers wonderful colourful views in autumn. The Municipality of Žirovnica advises that the path from the water tower above Žirovnica to the Završnica dam is closed because of landslides, so reach the valley by car to the car park or by other routes. The lake is popular with anglers and is a starting point for cyclists, so keep your dog close.
